FAQs

Alright, so I’m not asked questions all that often, but here’s a few I get a lot on cosplay.com, as well as some I made up. Have a question for me? Try asking over at my formspring!

  • Where did you buy your costume?

I didn’t! So far in my cosplay career, I have yet to buy any of the costumes that I have worn, but when or if I do, I’ll let you know. For now, I’ll continue to spend way too much time and energy making them myself. ;)

  • Where did you get your wig?

I get asked this a lot for specific wigs. I buy from a combination of sites, predominantly ebay (lots of different sellers, I like to try my luck with the Chinese a lot), followed by Cosworx and on occasion, Amphigory.com (who, by the way, provide a WONDERFUL resource for looking up and comparing wig colors!!). I style all my wigs myself, and when I dye them, I use sharpies.

  • Can I link to your site?

Absolutely! And make sure you email me so I can return the favor!

  • Where did you meet your boyfriend?

Okay, no one’s asked me this aside from friends, but it’s a cute story! Cliff and I met at Dragon*con 2008, so yes, I AM one of those many dorky girls who found her dream guy at a convention. We started dating a month later (he pursued me from the get-go, I was just busy getting ready for WCS), and Dragon*con 2010 will mark the anniversary of when we first met two years ago. So ladies, fellas, keep an open mind and an open heart at cons and maybe one day, your future significant other will randomly appear before you in your hotel room, too (he had entered with permission from a roommate)!

  • Will you commission a costume for me?

This is REALLY rare. I mostly commission for friends when I do make costumes for others, and it’s a troublesome process when I don’t have a body readily available for fittings. You can try me, but 19/20 times, I’m gonna say sorry, I can’t accept.

  • Will you style a wig for me?

Possibly! I don’t like hard-styling (spiking, hair accessories, etc), but I looooove soft-styling. I get a huge kick out of giving wigs the perfect haircut, and I’ve been doing it for friends for ages now. So got a base wig that needs to be cut, feathered, layered, or what have you? Then shoot me a PM on cosplay.com. My rates are ridiculously low (because I pretty much style for fun).
