Princess Aurora

Character: Princess Aurora
Series: Sleeping Beauty
Worn at: Dragon*con 2008 and 2009, Photoshoot at Oglethorpe University
Status: Semi-retired
Reason for cosplaying: Sleeping Beauty has been my absolute favorite classic Disney movie for as long as I can remember. I think it might have even been the first Disney movie I ever saw. (I know it’s the first one I remember!) Princess Aurora is also my favorite Disney princess design. I don’t know why I connected with her so much as a 5-year-old, but I did. I made this costume for Dragon*con in 2008 as my final project in Draping, and I did a miserable job on it. I remade the bodice as a corset in 2009, only to STILL not be happy with it. I might try one more time, or I might just finally give up for good. Maybe I should make blue… pink seems to be bad luck!

She was beautiful, kind, graceful, loved animals, and had a beeeautiful singing voice. All the things I wanted in life. Not to mention a HOT Disney prince! :D I made this costume for Dragon*con in 2008 as my final project in Draping, and I did a miserable job on it.
