Reason for Cosplaying: This was one of those costumes where I found a pattern in my grandmother's attic from the 60s that looked JUST like Asuka's yellow dress and decided for that reason to make it. I also found the yellow fabric in my grandma's attic. In fact, aside from the wig and the shoes, this costume cost me absolutely nothing to make it. Thank you, grandma's attic! Yards and yards and yards of free material and hundreds of patterns, w00t!
Afterthoughts: I really wasn't too pleased with this costume after making it. I didn't realize how high the waist would be on the dress... I mean, sure, Asuka's dress was from the 90s and back then low rise wasn't in yet, but the high waist just kinda made me look silly. Also, the dress did not flare out enough at the bottom. Since I really have no attachment to this costume, I'm retiring it and selling it on ebay. ^^
