Reason for Cosplaying: I've ALWAYS wanted to cosplay Sakura (bonafied Narutard!), and I was really looking forward to the ENORMOUS Naruto gathering that was going to happen at AX. However, when I heard about the Time Jump in Naruto, I was really interested in Sakura's new outfit- so I looked it up, and OH MY GOSH. It is SO hawt. Much hotter than her earlier outfit. I waited to make this costume last before AX, bc I hoped that by the time I started, the anime would have reached the Time Skip (yeah RIGHT!) or Kishimoto might have released a color image. However, neither came, and I procrastinated just a LITTLE too much on this costume. I was STILL finishing it in my hotel room before the gathering began. And it caused me to be late to our photoshoot with Consplayers. XD It was a rather ghetto costume, but I still loved wearing it anyway.
Afterthoughts: Biker shorts do NOT make for comfortable cosplay. At all. lol And my ghetto legwarmers kept falling down, they were so badly made. Amazingly, my ghetto-constructed ninja sandals stayed together! :OOO But aside from those aspects, this costume was SO much fun! The gathering wasn't that great... just... way too many Sakuras. @_@ However, I attended my first private photoshoot in this costume, gave a street performance of Harmonia with Velvy to a VERY large crowd of cheering onlookers, rockclimbed the rock-deco wall at the Coast Anaheim (hahaha!), performed Harmonia at Open Mic Karaoke with Velv, attended the Rum Party, stalked Sasukes, and had a SHITLOAD of fun at the rave all in this costume. And the whole time, I was totally rocking out Narutard-style. But for some reason, I say that like it's a GOOD thing. SHANNARO!!
